Dear Owen,
I was reading about you. About how you see magic in the normal. I’m puzzled. And a little – okay, a lot, in awe of how you see possibilities underneath the crapload of shit that’s life. My words, not yours.
I’m trying my best to see the good. But, here’s the deal, sometimes it’s picking a needle out of a mountain of shit. And that’s how 2021. A big, warm, steaming pile of dung. Give me 2020 any day.
Why was 2021 such a pain in the ass?
COVID, burn out, no boundaries, death, loss, financial worries, lungs not working, hospitals, doctors, tests, meds and more meds and no answers. Hello, exhausting!
My word for 2021 was comfort. It should have been struggle. Because that’s what we did. And I’m tired.
Now we are here on the cusp of 2022. And, you have no idea how much I want to shift the energy. In that spirit I’m going to take 15 minutes to express gratitude. Because we all know that gratitude is foundational to shifting perspective. And, boy, do I need a shift.

Soooo, in 15 minutes I managed 33 items of gratitude, falling a bit short of the typical 50 in prior years. But, hey, it was good to find the sparkles of blessings in an otherwise dark year.
Here’s to a brighter year ahead. Sending you love and happiness!
