2021 Kicking My Ass All The Way

Looking back at the last twelve months I can only sigh. It’s been a major shit show. Personally and collectively it started out rocky, building up steam, only to continue like a run away freight train flattening me. Maybe you too? I know looking around at the global news the world itself has been set on fire, flooded, tornadoes coming out of nowhere, skyrocketing inflation, global supply chain shortages and let’s not forget the ongoing pandemic politicians keep using to benefit themselves.

2021 was draining, exhausting and completely took my breath away. Literally. Breathing becomes precious when you find your once healthy lungs not cooperating. And, before you ask, not COVID related.

And here we are sliding headfirst into a new year. But before I jump into thinking about 2022 I am going to pause, reflect and find gratitude in the chaos of what was 2021. I’ve shared a few helpful ideas to jump start the new year in previous years. And, before you ask, I’m taking my own advice. Because I really, really want -need- to turn a corner.

Today it’s time to clear the air and tidy up. Im opening windows and doors inviting fresh air to sweep in and sweep out the stale air. I’m calling in sparkling, fresh oxygen to chase away all the lingering, negative energy that may be lurking in corners or beneath furniture. And for good measure, taking a broom to chase them out.

I’m sweeping floors, wiping down windows to let the sun shine though and dusting furniture. Im tossing wilted holiday flowers from the entry way, changing bedding and dancing my way through the kitchen cleaning appliances and cabinets.

Clutter be gone is my mantra as I go. My pile in the garage is growing to donate. I made a trip yesterday to the donation center with a small SUV filled to the brim. Looks like another trip is needed as I purge items that no longer bring me joy (thank you, Marie Kondo, the tidy expert). Its an exercise of love and gratitude cleaning my home that’s taking a few days. But it’s worth it to start the new year in a freshly cleaned home filled with pure air, allowing me breathing room to count my blessings. But first, I have to get back at tidying up.

Sending you love and happiness.

Simple Steps To Get Ready For The New Year

  1. Clear the air. Open doors, open windows letting clean air sweep through your home clearing the air. Yes, especially if its cold outside and you’ve been shut up in stuffy rooms. Let that old year’s energy go, replaced by the new year’s fresh, chilled air. Breathe.
  2. Tidy up. Sweep your floors. Don’t forget your front entry way to allow positive energy to flow.
  3. Remove clutter. You’ll instantly feel better. Not only will you feel better but you also open room to receive more of what you really love. Making space allows the universe to give you what you need.
  4. Count your blessings! Expressing gratitude for blessings and lessons allows us to greet the new year on a positive note. It reaffirms life’s goodness. It neutralizes the negative, allowing love and light into our heart. What a fantastic way to greet a brand new year.
