In Need Of Magic

I’m wading through thoughts and prayers as October slips towards All Hallows’ Eve. Maybe it’s Mercury in retrograde that has me feeling out of sorts or maybe it’s the nagging cough that drove me to taking antibiotics and inhalers, with a promise to get tested for COVID.

Since coming down with this bug I’ve intentionally sequestered myself at home away from everyone – I do not want to get anyone sick. I’ve ordered groceries in, drank gallons of tea and continued to work from home while beginning meds which I even had delivered too. Sheesh – all fun and games, huh? But I can honestly say I’m doing my part not to spread any illness – even if it’s not COVID. AnyHOO.

October has always been my favorite month of the year. It’s always been a month full of possibilities unfolding in surprising ways. Only this October feels different. It’s 2020 after all. But maybe we need to inject a bit of focused magic into our fall days? Let’s give it ago.

Prepare your space

Begin by opening a door or a window to let fresh air flow inside to cleanse your space. Breathe deeply. It’s amazing what fresh air can do!

On a tray, or solid surface, place a few candles. For me I prefer white, non-scented candles which are used to achieve peace and harmony. I also include fresh flowers, with sprigs of herbs like rosemary and a few rose quartz crystals promoting love.

Get Comfy

Make a relaxing cup of tea and turn on soft, low music you enjoy – or none. This is all about you and what makes you feel cozy and secure. Gather your journal and a favorite pen or two. I prefer my purple fine point pen, but go with what makes you happy.

Say a prayer or mantra

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Compassion: Dear Lord, help me feel ever-deepening self-acceptance. May I see myself as You see me. ~ Tosha Silver

My soul’s desire is the voice of God. Listen.

Journal

Write about what comes up for you. What feelings are percolating within you? Put it down on paper, releasing them so that they aren’t stuck within your energy field. Can’t find the words? Then draw, doodle, or cut and paste an image or images. Whatever feels right to you. This is your ceremony. Your time. The important thing here is to get it out.

All done? Say thank you, with a blessing, and knowing that peace is yours.

Sending you love and happiness. ❤️
