Where We Are Today

Where we are today is a curious road from where we were. We are where we are due to micro and macro decisions. Sometimes it’s with intent, or in my case, often with no thought at all except for getting through one day at a time.

I had no idea what the future held twenty years ago, living in Palmer, Alaska, 2 kids, no job to speak of, and a rocky marriage that ended with infidelity. Trusting in God was the only thing I could do for sure taking one blind step after another. And do you know what? For the most part, things turned out all right with lots of twisty turns, mountains and valleys to traverse and intersecting cross-roads.

“I am one with unlimited Love, beyond all seeming restrictions of age. I am filled with joy, energy, and beauty – a vessel for the Divine Shakti!” – Tosha Silver

Today’s reminder is all about loving ourselves and paying attention to the signs around us. Good advice!

Where We Are

Where we are today, yes, even in today’s pandemic-ridden-world, are because of choices made by us, by others and a bit of fate and destiny mixed in. Reacting to where we are at the moment is on us. And right now, to be honest, I’m feeling a bit unsettled, a bit curious at the unfolding events around us and even a bit worried about our loved one’s well-being. I know I’m not alone in this as the days stretch out ahead of us.

Mystery- trusting we have access to a higher power, tuning into intuition.

What Can We Do?

  1. Don’t ignore your feelings. Feeling out of sorts is perfectly normal and OK. Give yourself a pause, knowing that it’s OK to feel yucky sometimes. God created us beautiful, messy humans with feelings. Feel what you feel.
  2. Move on. Yep, don’t get stuck in the yuck. Tune in. Then let go. Feel your feelings but don’t get sucked into that mud-filled-yuck. Get up, get showered, get moving! Even if its dancing in the kitchen or plucking weeds from your garden. Moving your body releases lots of good endorphins and we can all use more of that!
  3. Express gratitude. Simply recognizing small blessings like the sun on my face, the smell of coffee in the early morning or a snuggle with my fur baby alleviates stress by the bucketful. Spending just a few minutes in prayer or meditation, with a grateful heart, also helps open the heart to divine love and guidance. And you can do that anywhere and at anytime – no appointment necessary.

Before I close this post I want to leave you with a few helpful resources that are available to us from amazing companies doing what they can to promote happiness during this period of staying in and staying safe.

Sending you love and happiness!
