Mapping Out A Happy Home

In Feng Shui, the art of arranging your space, is a practice that draws positive chi (think energy) into different areas of your life. This is an ancient Chinese system that’s been adopted around the world promoting lost of positive results.

That says a lot!

And, hey, I’m all about positive energy. Not sure about you, but adopting a few simple tactics is a nice way to start the year.

Mapping Out A Happy Home

Did you know that by tidying up your entry way that simple act promotes vibrant energy? Clear away old, broken items, sweep away accumulated dirt and ensure you have an easy, welcoming path to your door. This allows the chi to flow and your visitors will thank you.

Orientate your map, starting at your front door. This is the main entrance into your home. Take a look at the focus areas and how they align to your home. Depending on what you see in each area, if that is an area that you want to expand and grow, then it’s certainly a good place to start with clearing out the clutter, fixing broken items or letting go of old relics, etc.

Areas of Focus

Traditional Bagua Locations (think of it as a compass):
North: Career
Northeast: Knowledge
East: Family
Southeast: Wealth & Money
South: Fame & Reputation
Southwest: Relationships
West: Children & Creativity
Northwest: Helpful People & Travel

3 Simple Happy Home Tips

  1. Clear path to your Front Door
  2. Clear the clutter opens space for Chi to flow
  3. Let natural light in with clean windows

So where am I starting? With one room at a time. I’m starting upstairs as it doesn’t get as much use since my family has flown the nest. I’ve already started to remove clutter and have a bit more to go. Then its time to patch, paint and decorate, oh my. I’ll let you know how it goes. Its never too late to start an early spring clean!

Sending you love and happiness.

  1. I’ll be doing that too once I get through all the book-keeping I put off the whole previous year – does Feng Shui help with that?! Good luck and enjoy the process of letting go and freeing up positive energy!
