If you had asked me a year ago if I would be spending Easter in Pittsburgh I would have said no, shivering a bit from the chilly thought. But here I am heading off to spend the weekend in a chilly, rainswept city leaving behind my blooming flowers and herb garden.
I’ve become spoiled and thin skinned in less than a year since moving South. I absolutely love the warmth and, yes, even the humidity that embraces me like a lover’s sticky hug. A few days ago as I was watering my miniature roses I asked my daughter why they weren’t coming here? I hear her laugh on the phone. It was snowing there.
But, of course, I am going. I wouldn’t miss an Easter with Miss R. I don’t think I’ve missed dying Easter eggs in all her seven years. It’s our favorite thing.
I have a small tote with me – just doing carry on since it’s only for a few days – with a few goodies for my girl.
I’ve missed my girls terribly. It’ll be nice hanging out with them even if it’s a bit chilly.
I’m off!
Sending you love and happiness! ❤️
Hope it was a wonderfully blessed Easter weekend with your girls, April!
Thanks! Wishing you happiness and a wonderful Easter.
