There is a charming bungalow that sits on the East end of Galveston Island, off the coast of Texas. I bought it last fall. A dream come true. It was my recovery room, a place I could relax and find my center. I think that’s important for all of us.
As soon as I stepped through the door into its inviting, open concept living space, minutes away from the seawall, I knew it was a perfect Island haven. It was just what the doctor ordered; a quaint getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The Sea Is Calling
Over the last year, at least when I was home and could get away, this little bungalow has been a welcome escape from Houston since it’s just a bit over an hour away, depending on traffic. I love how walkable it is to the strand with shops and restaurants. There’s a wine bar just a few blocks away next to a scratch made pizzas! And I have to admit to indulging in a few yummy pastries from the local donut shop literally around the corner.
If I could live there full time I would but God has other plans. Instead my job keeps me hopping and I’m barely home lately. Have you noticed the lack of posts?
Dipping My Toe in The Water
So what’s a gal to do? I’ve given it a bit of thought and chatted with my son and decided to let him host it on AirBnB. Yep, we pulled the trigger, giving it a trial run.
After all it’s too lovely not to share. And sitting there empty I’m sure the little bungalow gets lonely. It needs happy people enjoying the easy, breezy, island life. So if you’re interested pop over to AirBnB and check out my adorable little bungalow just waiting for friends to enjoy.
Amenities
And because it’s my home away from home you’ll find amenities that I can’t live without.
- A lovely kitchen stocked with all the essentials plus coffee and tea.
- All the technology that you really shouldn’t need on an island but I can’t live without; internet, cable Netflix, and Amazon.
- Two large decks perfect for unwinding with a glass of wine in the evenings.
- A fenced backyard for our furry family members.
- Full washer and dryer to keep things tidy.
- 2 bedrooms with queen sized beds, and one full bath stocked with extras just in case.
If this sounds like a little slice of fun in the sun, it is. And you can enjoy it too. Grab your swimsuit and head to AirBnB where Driftwood Cove is listed. It’s already had a few happy visitors and I’m sure the little bungalow is excited to have you too.
Sending you love and happiness. ❤️
