Counting Down To Christmas with 7 Days of Creative Gift Giving

Counting down to Christmas with 7 days of creative gift giving.

I’ll be the first one to admit that a little help in the gifting department goes a looong way. And if those gifting ideas come in at a friendly budget cost then I’m all in! It’s a bonus when they are super easier to do too.

Christmas

As we coast into the last week before Christmas I figured I’d share daily creative gift ideas I’ve come across. Kind of a short countdown to Christmas Day.

Day 1 of 7 Magically Delicious Caramel Popcorn

This caramel popcorn is magically delicious, making an easy homemade gift to give away. That is if there’s any left to give away after your family gets a taste!

Caramel popcorn

Make some popcorn. Yep, it’s a tough one. Air pop some if you have it or my old school stove top popping method is below.

Stove top popcorn: heat a large stockpot with a splash of oil. Pour popcorn kernels in pan until they cover the bottom of the pan in a single layer. Cover with a lid. Shake gently as they begin to pop. Vent the lid just a tad and continue shaking until the kernels stop popping. Pour popcorn 🍿 in a lined large cookie sheet or a 9×13 casserole pan, lightly spayed with your favorite cooking oil.

Tip: line your pan with parchment or tinfoil to make cleanup easy.

Easy Caramel

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup Karo light syrup

1 tsp vanilla

Pinch of salt

Place in sauce pan and stir over medium heat until it forms a soft ball (coats the spoon). Pull off the heat. Pour in the vanilla and salt. Stir. Careful here; the vanilla causes the caramel to bubble up.

Gently pour caramel over popcorn stirring gently to coat.

Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees.

Cool and break apart. Place in containers to gift. Don’t be afraid to get creative with the packaging.

The baggy treatment ($)

BagsQuart plastic bag – Put popcorn in the bag leaving room to tie it off with a pretty ribbon. If you used a ziplock snip the edge off leaving just the plastic for a prettier package.

Christmas goodie bags – These are very low cost and you can find a zillion prints and designs. Find what you love.

Tins to love ($$)

I found these cute plastic Christmas tins for a whopping 2 bucks for 2. Score! Tins can become a bit pricey depending on size and where you find them. Go as big and as extravagant as your budget allows.

Be prepared, your gift recipients will beg you for the recipe!

Sending you love and happiness. ❤️
