I closed on a bungalow an hour or so away that sits on the Texas coast. It’s a tiny house with a big heart. Absolutely a dream come true.
I finally reached a goal that I’ve had for many years and you know what? It feels pretty damn good. God has come through again…along with some hard work on my part, but I am feeling very grateful at the moment.
There’s something about the small two bedroom home that makes me happy. It’s no bigger than a dollhouse, but it called to me as soon as I walked through the red front door. I knew instantly that it would be a cozy retreat perfect for me and the family. It sits minutes from the beach making it a just a bike ride away from playtime
I bought the home with the furniture included which was another blessing. But nesting is in my blood and, of course, it’s nice not to have to buy the big-ticket items which leaves room for all the fun stuff like bedding!
Yes, I know, not what you expected but I’m a bit particular about crisp sheets, down pillows and cozy bedding. The previous owner left the bedrooms beautifully furnished with linen and lace bedding and white Jersey sheets that was pretty to look at but left me itching just thinking about sleeping in a nest of linen and lace along with hard pillows. Heading to Target, I picked up new down pillows, before I headed down to spend my first weekend in my new retreat. In my car I had already packed bedding from my linen closet including crisp Shabby Chic sheets, a Nordstrom duvet and comfy throws to make my new bedroom mine.
As for the rest of the home I will let it come together slowly, letting the bungalow speak to us.
Sending you love and happiness
