Clearing the Air
30-Day Chakra Balancing Challenge brings us back to the Throat Chakra, Vishuddha, a realm of authentic truth and self-expression. This chakra is like your inner megaphone, located at the base of the throat and glowing with serene blue energy (or at least, it should be glowing if I remember to nurture it). It’s all about finding your voice, using it with clarity, and sometimes, sitting quietly enough to listen to others. Repeat after me; I am a work in progress. Baby steps. I say this a lot because, unfortunately it’s true.

This morning, my oracle cards showed up with their usual uncanny accuracy. From The Chakra Wisdom Oracle Deck, I pulled Faith, a reminder to trust the bigger picture and that my voice has a role in it. Then came Self-Sufficiency from Tosha Silver’s The Wild Offering Oracle, which was essentially a cosmic sign to stop needing everyone else’s approval. It’s like the universe handed me a note that said, “Hey, you do you and do it boldly!”
Feeling inspired (but still a bit groggy), I decided to explore Vishuddha’s mudra and mantra. And let me just say, figuring out mudras should come with a step-by-step IKEA manual. Because as I laced my fingers together with my thumbs touching, it didn’t feel like a gateway to self-expression. Instead, it felt more like a failed attempt at hand yoga. And you know we’ve been here before, like all week. Then came the mantra HAM. Simple, right? You’d think. Except somehow my version sounded more like an off-key yawn. Still, the effort counts, right? Time to catch up with coffee before sitting with the journal prompts.
Throat Chakra Assignment and Activities
Vishuddha is where my thoughts and emotions step onto the stage, and these questions feel like the perfect way to give my voice (and my listening skills) a little TLC. Did I know this? Nope. But with Rachel’s guidance, I’m ready to embrace the art of self-expression, untangle my communication quirks, and maybe even laugh at how messy this process can be. Here’s to nurturing clarity, connection, and a touch of fun along the way!
Creative Expression
Writing is my go-to way to express creativity, because talking out loud to myself gets weird stares. When I write, it’s like my thoughts finally have a stage to perform on, complete with a spotlight. It’s less about impressing anyone and more about turning the chaos in my brain into something that makes sense (well, most of the time).
Listening Habits
Full transparency: my listening game could use some work. I blame the siren call of ADD. That said, when I manage to focus, I love the connection that comes from truly hearing someone. It’s like Vishuddha whispers, “This is your chance to connect. Don’t blow it.” Definitely adding “be more present” to the to-do list.
Sharing Inner Thoughts
Speaking my truth? Sure. Without overthinking? Um, work in progress. Sometimes my inner critic hijacks the mic, whispering things like, “What if they don’t get it?” But today, Vishuddha’s energy reminds me that even if my truth isn’t perfect, it’s still worthy of being spoken.
Acknowledging My Voice
When I feel unheard, my instinct is to retreat and basically turning into a silent emoji. But that’s not helpful, is it? Moving forward, I want to channel some Vishuddha power to calmly assert myself, ensuring that my voice is part of the conversation. Baby steps. I’m saying this a lot!
One More Throat Chakra Assignment
Rachel had a one more activity; to write or shoot a video of introducing ourselves with a short bio. This should reflect our unique journey, values, and goals. No pressure there, right? I gave up my ring light, video stand and mic a few years ago. Seriously. Have no idea where there went. So, I’m going to tackle this in writing and will share with the group in a bit. Stay tuned! Because its Sunday afternoon I have laundry going, dinner on the stove and preparing for the week ahead. I know I committed. However, this activity will be put on the back burner for a little bit. I have to go enjoy our joyful, messiness of an afternoon.
Nourishing Throat Chakra Inspired Recipe
For today’s Throat Chakra nourishment, I made a comforting Blueberry and Chamomile Tea Loaf—infused with ingredients that calm and soothe, just like Vishuddha’s energy.
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup honey or sugar
- 2 eggs (room temperature)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
- ½ cup chamomile tea (brewed and cooled)
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, combine the honey, eggs, melted butter, and chamomile tea. Gradually mix into the dry ingredients until combined.
- Gently fold in the blueberries. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 40–50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool, slice, and savor alongside a cup of tea—and maybe some quiet self-reflection.
Wrapping up Day 13
Revisiting Vishuddha felt like a lesson in progress over perfection. Between the mudra that turned into a finger puzzle, my mantra HAM (which sounded more like umm), and the journal prompts, I realized that expressing my truth doesn’t have to look perfect. It’s about showing up, trying, and laughing at yourself along the way. Here’s to letting Vishuddha’s energy guide us into more clarity, connection, and confidence. Awkward mudras and all!
