Waiting outside of probate court last Wednesday afternoon, I savored a piece of Dove dark chocolate, reading the printed message, “Be thankful for today.” I was alone with my memories, my worries, my hopes, my grief. I kept reading that message over and over again, that reminder, that mantra, until I walked through the court room doors.
A short hour later (a long year and half) I sat in my car holding a single piece of paper. Relief? Strength? An ending? A beginning? All I know is step by step, day by day we are figuring out our new normal.
Be thankful for today.
This is my prayer for each of us as we navigate this roller coaster ride we call life.
We got this.
