Tis the season to be merry – island style!
One of the things I really, really enjoy about my little home on Galveston island is there is always something to do even during this dreaded pandemic. Just a few short blocks from my front porch is the Strand where locals and tourists stroll along historic walks outside charming shops beneath holiday lights. It’s Christmas on the Strand!
For some adult fun swing by DTO for a festive cocktail. Or two. Mask up, and enjoy the festivities. Yes, I know, masks are not that fun but if you want to get out, even island style, you’ll want to have yours. If the Strand isn’t your cup of tea head to Moody Gardens to see the Festival of Lights, a mile of holiday cheer.
Or maybe a brisk stroll along the sea wall is more your thing? It’s one of my favorite things about living so close to the ocean. Even on brisk, chilly days there is something refreshing about a sandy, seashore walk collecting shells. Tis the season!
And I suppose these are just a few reasons why I’m exploring moving to the island full time…a big move, I know. But here I am already invested, drawings and permits complete, for building a garage apartment to enlarge the tiny footprint. But with COVID, and 2020, prices have skyrocketed, but what’s a gal to do? More to come as I’m now waiting on the appraisal before I continue exploring my options. Stay tuned!
Sending you love and happiness. ❤️
