A Week of Happiness

International Day of Happiness takes place Friday, March 20th, 2020

Let’s get real, quarantine, basically self-isolation, is not good for the soul, mind or body. But there are ways to minimize the negative impacts – creativity! Yeah, yeah, I know…it’s not a cure but, hey, its something to focus on. And guess what’s happening on Friday? International Day of Happiness. It time to get creative and play!

In preparation for this year’s day of happiness I put together a week of mindful happiness activities to play with. In this time of the dreaded C-word -that-shall-not-be-named, enforcing us to shelter in place (at least we should to help stop the spread), I thought it would be fun to share a week of virtual happiness activities to chase away the funk of the times.

These are just ideas. There are no fast and hard rules to follow. Just spreading some virtual cheer and happiness, hoping it outpaces the dreaded C-word. Come up with your own and don’t forget to share them with me. Let’s see how it goes.

A Week of Happiness

  1. Craft a cozy care package to mail to a special someone. It can be as small as a letter with comfy tea bags tucked inside. Be sure to include a handwritten note.
  2. Dive deep into a delicious bubble bath. Light a few candles, turn on soothing music and exhale all the stress while soaking away.
  3. Have breakfast for dinner. Comfy slippers and favorite pjs are encouraged.
  4. Throw a dance party in your kitchen. Turn on some fun music and get your groove on.
  5. Schedule and host a virtual chat with one of your favorite people. Indulge in a cuppa and yummy goodie while catching up.
  6. Movie night! Pick your favorite movie, pop some popcorn and enjoy.  
  7. Indulge in fine dining at home. Pull out the fancy dishes, open the fancy wine, light candles and enjoy fine dining in the comfort of your home.

  1. I wrote a full blog at work about international day of happiness. Great ideas! I’m happy about no committing and not having to to wear a bra. It’s the simple things in life. 😊

    1. LoL I’m so happy to hear your comment about not wearing a bra! I was just thinking about that a few days ago as a huge benefit when working from home! ☺️ I’ll have to check your blog out…can’t get enough of spreading happiness around!
