Google, Zillow, even your favorite .com site pales in comparison to real life.
With a stop for coffee and donut holes, I plugged an address into my car’s GPS, pointing it towards the coast. I’ve been exploring online quite a bit but pictures can tell a story that may not quite convey the true surroundings.
No Parking
The realtor explained to me I just didn’t understand island living when I called about lack of parking. Mmmmm. There are certain uncompromising things in a home, like parking, that is on my list – island or not.
Rear Alley Homes
At least it had a place to park but let’s just say the tiny alley had me a bit perplexed and the neighbors a bit close. I know. I know.
Guard Dog Next Door
Not a fan of scary, barking dogs housed right next door in his own dilapidated plywood doghouse. Moving on.
New Build Miles Away
A new community is being developed mid-island. I’m sure it will be a beautiful, tight knit community when finished. The lots are tiny and close together. Maybe not exactly what I’m thinking of.
Jamaica Beach Potentials
One More Stop
This cutie was the last stop and the furthest on the west side of the island. The lack of a drive away and the distance ruled it out but it has a certain tiny house charm. I wonder about the possibility of what it could be but the distance just doesn’t make it feasible.
Heading Home
The day was mixed with clouds and sprinkles but I pulled to the side of the road to snap a few shots of the choppy water. I love the water and the thought of finding a little home near the water is intriguing. Who knows what may be in the future.
It was a good day to get out to explore and to dream.
Sending you love and happiness.
