Hello Beautiful

Can you believe we just turned the page to a brand new month filled with brand new possibilities!?! I just love this time of year. It feels fresh and alive and so full of promise that the days burst from the tight seams of winter into the lightness of spring. It’s a beautiful mix of rain drops and tulips and tempts me to grab you by the hand to explore mud puddles and soggy sandwiches in the park.

Just thinking of all the fun to be had in March makes my imagination race. But first, I realized its time to refresh my March wardrobe with some cute rain gear.

The raincoat

A true, necessary wardrobe item here in the South. I love this cheery yellow jacket, reminiscent of a childhood favorite.

Boots

I’m addicted to boots, always have been, but there is nothing cuter than a playful pair of rain boots. Yes, you can go towards the stylish, grownup, sleek boots…you will rock the look. However, I say cast off the lady boots, and pull on the most outlandish rubber boots embracing FUN. Your inner child will be romping around in mud puddles in no time at all.

Umbrellas

What is it about umbrellas that bring out the giggles in children? I remember when my daughter was a tiny little thing falling in love with a frilly, lace trimmed parasol which years later my granddaughter discovered in my closet. Love blossomed all over again until, walking through a store, drenched from a sudden rainstorm, my granddaughter skipped towards an umbrella stand selecting a red and blue American flag beauty. Love at seven is fickle but she loves this umbrella. She even tucked it into the side pocket of her small carryon case, it’s handle waving, tops turvy, merrily goodbye as she rolled the bag towards the car. Her mamma rescued it before it fell to the ground and gave it back to me. The look on Miss R’s face was full of disappointment not quite understanding that there was no need to bring it on an airplane.

There ya have it, my thoughts on jumping into March, embracing fun and joy.
